When I originally went to "make my house solar", I found these companies wanted 40 to 50 Thousand dollars. I thought to myself there has to be a better way. It can't be that hard. I found it here. Click Here <-

Also I found that when installing these panels, you will be using some 5/32" and 7/64" drill bits for making the brackets that hold the solar panels. Bolt Cutters Tool Review

If you’d like to take charge of the many jobs and tasks that need to be done around your home, you are going to need a variety of tools. There are some like pipe cutters and bolt cutters that won’t be used everyday, but pipe cutters will make that plumbing project much easier.

A good handyman is able to do a variety of projects; anything from electrical work to plumbing and basic construction. But, you have to have the right tools to do the job.

It’s amazing how many tools have very specialized functions. It’s also amazing to realize that there are many times when you need those specialized tools – just because they make the job easier to do. When you absolutely have to finish a project, it’s great to go to the toolbox and retrieve the tool that is going save you time and the stress of trying to “make do” with the wrong tools.

Pipe cutters and bolt cutters.
These two tools are completely different and meet different needs, yet both are handy to have around the house when you need them.

Pipe cutters are a necessity for plumbing projects. Some people don’t invest in this tool because they assume they can cut through pipe using a hacksaw. Pipe cutters offer a fast way to cut through the pipe, and they also make a much cleaner cut , which should eliminate the risk of pipes not fitting properly and the resulting leaks.

You will need pipe cutters for jobs like replacing a p-trap, adding a water line to a refrigerator, working on a sprinkler system, or simply maintaining your home sinks. There are different types of Pipe cutters depending on whether your are cutting plastic PVC pipe or copper or steel pipe.

Bolt cutters are another great tool to have around the house, and one you never know when you’ll need. Bolt cutters are used to cut chains, bolts, chain link fencing or even that old combination lock that no one remembers the combination to. Bolt cutters have long handles and very short blades. They work well because the compound hinges allow you to maximize your leverage and cutting force. This is especially important when you are trying to cut into hard steel, like that combination lock.

Deciding you are going to take care of all the “handyman” projects that come up in your house can be a cost effective way to maintain your home. Plus, there’s no better excuse for buying tools. Check out some of the pipe cutters and bolt cutters, you’ll be amazed at how having the right tools makes your projects go quickly and easily.

Toolguy.com

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5267310498876855945.post-80047614390817036532008-09-22T12:09:00.000-07:002008-09-22T12:14:31.127-07:00Auger Bit and Carbide Drill Bits Tool Reviews Tool Review: Auger Bit and Carbide Drill Bits

Strolling down the aisle of a hardware store will show you an amazing selection of tools. If you wander over to the drill section, you’ll see a breath taking array of drill bits … carbide drill bits, Step and Cobalt drill bits are a just few of what you will see. These drill bits are used for a variety of tasks, some very specialized. You don’t need to have hundreds of drill bits, but you do need to have the right drill bit for the right task.

If you plan to do any kind of wood working, plumbing or electrical work, you’ll want to have an auger bit. Auger bits are used for creating clean, neat holes in wood. You can find auger bits in a variety of sizes, which give you lots of options when wood working.

An auger bit has a sharp center point that bites into the wood for drilling and a deep spiral flute that effectively removes sawdust and chips while drilling. These bits will make large-diameter, deep holes in large boards, such as 2x4’s. The auger bit also leaves a flat bottomed hole.

While an auger bit will make short work of drilling deep holes into wood, or take care or nails where you’re drilling, sometimes you need something with a little more horsepower, at least something that can cut through metal. One option is to use carbide drill bits. Carbide bits are used when regular steel bits simply won’t do the job.

Carbide drill bits have been coated with carbide, a compound made from carbon – this material used to coat these drill bits is made of Tungsten carbide, titanium carbide and tantalum carbide. The hard carbide particles coat the drill bits, are pressed into a metal die, and then heated in a furnace to over 1400 degrees Celsius. This coating makes the drill bit some of the toughest material available. It also makes the carbide bit quite a bit more expensive than traditional bits.

Carbide bits are considered an industry standard for metal working professionals – carbide drill bits will cut through almost anything. These bits have incredible cutting power, and will also hold their naturally sharp edge longer than most drill bits. While these drill bits certainly may be more expensive to purchase initially, they will hold up well over time. You won’t have to replace them with the frequency that you will have to replace traditional drill bits.

To a hobbyist, general handyman or building professional, the right tools are incredibly important. Check out our full line of drill bits and drill bit sets make sure you have the best auger bit or carbide drill bits for your job!

Toolguy.com

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5267310498876855945.post-59018655647776583952008-09-22T11:55:00.000-07:002008-09-22T11:58:44.304-07:00Chain Link Fence Tools ReviewChain Link Fence Tools Review

Fences can change the look of your property, provide privacy and protection and even increase the value of your home if built properly

You have a many choices when it comes to fencing. The Differences Between Drill Bits

Looking for drill bits for your electric drill? You have a wide selection of drill bits. The differences between most drill bits are the materials they are made of, the length of the drill bit, the angle of the tip, and the method of sizing.

Metal drill bits are made from a variety of different metals. The standard drill bits used for household chores are made from High Speed Steel (HSS).

In addition to HSS metal drill bits, you can find drill bits made from tungsten carbide, titanium and cobalt. These various metal drill bits all have special purposes, or are best used for cutting and drilling through harder materials, such as stainless steel or cast iron. All of these special metal drill bits are more expensive than traditional HSS metal bits. But metal drill bits made from carbide, titanium and cobalt will last longer than traditional HSS drill bits.

Metal drill bits and wood drill bits both come in a variety of sizes that are best used to create a variety of holes. You can find drill bit sets in metric and inch measurement sets. If you are a beginning wood worker or just need a set of bits to do some standard household chores, a simple set of metal drill bits will accomplish your task. Of course, you can invest in drill bits of higher metal quality, which will last longer and allow you more versatility in the materials you drill through.

Wood Drill Bits
There are some specialized wood drill bits that are used for cutting deep holes into wood, for example auger bits are most help in cutting holes for electrical wiring or plumbing.

There are also wood drill bits that cut a circular plug into the wood. This is the perfect option for a serious woodworker. These wood drill bits have a circular coupling that surrounds the bit. The bit goes into the wood while the circular coupling rotates and cuts a wood plug into the piece of wood.

Like many people, you’ll find that sometimes it works best to have a set of basic wood drill bits and several different metal drill bits. HSS, Carbide, Titanium and Cobalt bits are some of your options, depending on your how often you drill through hard materials.

No house should be without a power drill and a good, basic drill bit set. There’s always a job around the house – cabinets hung, shelves put up – something that requires a drill. Invest in a good quality power drill and good drill bit sets and you’ll be amazed at what you can accomplish.

Toolguy.com
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5267310498876855945.post-16498522101761911082008-09-22T11:37:00.000-07:002008-09-22T11:41:57.548-07:00MAASDAM Comealongs.

Toolguy.com
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5267310498876855945.post-9863723525287935492008-09-18T14:03:00.003-07:002008-09-19T11:46:15.738-07:00Drill Bits 101 – Choosing between Cobalt Drill Bits and Titanium Drill BitsDrill Bits 101 – Choosing between Cobalt Drill Bits and Titanium Drill Bits

Do you have need to drill through some metal, such as steel? You know that your regular drill bits simply won’t cut it. But what’s the best way to go? If you need to cut through metal, you should consider getting some titanium drill bits or cobalt drill bits.

Let’s take a look at each drill bit and how it can be used most effectively:

Cobalt drill bits are made from cobalt steel blended with a fairly large percentage of cobalt. The cobalt actually makes the drill bit incredibly hard, with an abrasion quality. Cobalt bits are also superior for their resistance to heat.

Cobalt bits are used for production drilling (repeated drilling or professional projects). Cobalt drill bits are specifically designed for drill into hard, abrasive materials. They are ideal when used to drill into stainless steel, titanium and even cast iron.

If you are going to repeatedly drill through steel and other metals, you may want to look at cobalt drill bits, which are cobalt all the way through, can be sharpen when needed.

On the other hand, titanium drill bits are a metal formulation of titanium nitride applied to (coating) a High Speed Steel (HSS) drill bits. These titanium drill bits have incredible high surface hardness and are very corrosive resistant.

Titanium drill bits also significantly reduce the friction between the drill bit and the material being drilled through. Titanium bits are also ideal for cutting through metal. They will last up to six times longer than standard HSS drill bits.

Titanium drill bits have a higher hardness level typically than cobalt drill bits. However, the titanium is a coating on the drill bit, so you won’t be able to sharpen the drill bit and keep the titanium coating.

Both titanium bits and cobalt bits are more expensive than traditional HSS drill bits. But these drill bits are used for a very special purpose. Cutting through or drilling holes into stainless steel is not something most people need to do with their household drill. So, in part, using titanium or cobalt bits depends on what type of task and how often you plan to use the drill bits.

Check out the different cobalt drill bits and titanium drill bits on our site.

Toolguy.com

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5267310498876855945.post-69720360282639806412008-09-18T14:03:00.002-07:002008-09-19T08:53:34.493-07:00Drill Bits and Burrs. Selecting The Proper Drill Bits and BurrsFinding the Right Drill Bit for a Power Drill

When you buy a power drill, you’ll also want to purchase a set of drill bits. There are all kinds of drill bit sets – these bits can be used for everything from drilling into wood, glass, masonry, even metal. Specialized drill bits are made from a variety of different materials, which are best suited to the type of material you are drilling into.

Good beginner drill bit sets are twist bits – a spiraled bit with a sharp point on the end. The pointed end of the bit cuts into the material, while the spirals remove debris from the hole. The spiral surface also tends to keep the drill bit straight as you drill. These bits are used for creating basic, small holes.

Another great bit to have in any drill bit set is the flat head bit that works well as a screw driver. Imagine putting together a set of assemble-it-yourself furniture with an electric drill outfitted with a screw driver bit. You’d be done in no time.

You can find drill bit sets in either metric or inch measurement systems. If you are working on a project that requires holes for a certain diameter screw, you can match the appropriately sized drill bit to make the hole.

You’ll find that there are drill bit sets to accomplish a variety of tasks. For instance, a regular spiral head set is great for drilling into wood. You can also get drill bits that make it easy to make even, symmetrical holes – like the kind used for cord access in an entertainment center. Other bits are great if you want to drill into masonry, or into metal. There’s a drill bit set for virtually every kind of task you could think of. Looking for Concrete and Masonry bits or carbide bits, check out our complete line of drill bits and drill bit sets

Good quality drill bits can be a little expensive, but if properly cared for, will last for decades. Store drill bits in a box or case; don’t let them roll around loose in a toolbox or the cutting edges may become damaged. Occasionally, you’ll need to sharpen your drill bits, which you can do yourself with a drill sharpener, a grindstone jig, or an oilstone. The sharper your drill bits, the cleaner hole you will make.

No house should be without a power drill and a good, basic drill bit set. There’s always a job around the house – cabinets hung, shelves put up – something that requires a drill. Invest in a good quality power drill and good drill bit sets and you’ll be amazed at what you can accomplish.

High Speed Bits
The Best-value without sacrificing quality! But to those of us in the Fence Industry, one man made all the difference.

In 1905, Hubert L. Wright invented what is known today as the "Hammerhead Plier," which kicked off the invention of the Modern-Day Fence plier.

Wright was connected to the Utica Drop Forge & Tool company in Utica, NY, Which is where our current UTICA Plier gets its name from. Below is the actual patent drawing submitted to the U.S. Patent Office back over 100 years ago.

Later, in 1909, H.F. Kelleman, also for the Utica Drop Forge @ Tool company Introduced what will later become the Square Nose Fence Pliers.

Because of these pliers' strength and quality, they have survived to today, and Toolguy.com is your number one source for Fence Pliers in the World. The Toolguyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14168454816240871895noreply@blogger.com4
